The candidate will perform a variety of routine mineral, physical, and microbiological tests and analyses on wastewater samples to meet government and process control requirements, perform field sampling duties, and follow quality assurance/quality control program criteria.

Experience: One year of laboratory experience (employed) or sixteen (16) semester hours of college or university laboratory courses such as chemistry, physics, and biology. Training and certification will be provided to meet PA DEP laboratory accreditation requirements.

Hours: Monday through Friday for approximately 4-5 hours per shift. Start time is flexible but will be between 6:00 am to 8:00 am.

As a Shift Supervisor, you will perform a variety of duties to assure the proper and efficient operations of Allentown’s water treatment facilities and wastewater treatment facilities. This role serves as the supervisory functional point of contact for emergencies during second and third shift operations for the water distribution system and sewage conveyance systems, in addition to the treatment plant facilities. The required shift for this position is 3:00pm – 3:00am.

This position requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in water/wastewater operations, 2 years in a supervisory role. Candidates should possess a valid Class A Wastewater Systems Operator Certificate and/or a valid Class A Water System Operators Certificate.


Experience and Licenses:
