This successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks required to ensure proper operation and maintenance of the WWTP facilities and collection system. Candidate must possess both mechanical and electrical aptitude. Previous wastewater experience is desirable but will train candidate that meets the other job requirements as described in job description located on the township website. FT, 40 hrs/wk with OT required when needed. Participate in on-call, weekend and holiday rotation. Must be able to perform manual labor and lift 80 lbs. A local waste water treatment facility is seeking an operator to run it’s 1 MGD plant. The person holding this position would be responsible for the operation and maintenance, keeping it in compliance with the NPDES Permit. 

The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator must be certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and possess a minimum of a Type 1 Class CD, Sub-class 1, operators' certificate and have a minimum of 5 years of experience operating an Activated Sludge Waste Water Treatment facility

Operator must be experienced in maintenance and general repair of mechanical and plumbing systems. Knowledge of electrical systems maintenance a plus. Must also be experienced in the collection and laboratory analyses of wastewater in compliance with the facility’s NPDES Permit. General computer literacy required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel are necessary for this position. Knowledge of eMaint (CMMS software) would be a plus.

Job duties would include:
• Operation, proper documentation, and maintenance of the existing Activated Sludge 1.0 MGD WWTP and related pump stations and collection systems.
• Assist water utility group as need for emergencies and planned maintenance.

Lehigh County Authority has an opening for Water / Wastewater Treatment Plan Operator (TPO) to join our expanding team.  The TPO will perform a variety of duties to assure the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the City's water production and filtration systems and/or wastewater treatment facilities.   This is a night shift position working 6:00pm-6:00am.

These roles require candidates to possess water / wastewater treatment plant operation certificates and/or training, as well as college-level coursework related to the operation of water and wastewater facilities.  Past experience in a Water/Wastewater treatment plant is a plus.
