The Borough of Sinking Spring is looking to hire an additional Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator. The Operator will be responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of the 1.25 MGD Wastewater Treatment Plant, collection and conveyance system, satellite pump station, maintaining compliance with required regulatory agencies, and monitoring and assisting wastewater personnel.

It is preferred that the candidate have a minimum of 3 years direct involvement of treatment plant operations, pump stations, and collection systems. Candidate must possess a current Pennsylvania Class B Operators License, Class E Collection and Conveyance System with Sub Classification 1 (Activated Sludge) and Sub Classification 4(Collection System). A valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License Class B, with the air and tank endorsements or the ability to acquire it within 120 Days, and a clean driving record.

The Plant Manager reports to a Project Manager who is based offsite at a neighboring facility. Under the guidance of the Project Manager, the Plant Manager guides the training and the daily activities of onsite staff and contractors at a water/wastewater treatment facility. In consultation with the Project Manager, the Plant Manager may be called upon to solve or assist in solving complex operational and maintenance problems at the facility.
