Lehigh County Authority in Allentown, PA is seeking a Shift Supervisor to support the water/wastewater operations. The Shift Supervisor performs a variety of duties to assure the proper and efficient operations of the City’s water treatment facilities and wastewater treatment facilities. This role serves as the supervisory functional point of contact for emergencies during second and third shift operations for the water distribution system and sewage conveyance systems, in addition to the treatment plant facilities.

Typically, this position will require 12-hour shifts with every other weekend off. Work times are generally evening and nighttime hours. Overtime will be available.

This is a full-time hourly position within the Wastewater Department of Upper Gwynedd Township. The person holding this position will be responsible for maintenance, inspection and repair of the Township’s sanitary sewer and storm water sewer collection systems. This individual must be able to work cooperatively with all township employees and independently without direct supervision. Must be able to work in conjunction with Public Works on various projects. Additionally, this position requires the ability to maintain detailed records related to the township’s collection systems. This employee will report directly to the Collection System Coordinator.

Education
The person holding this position must have a High School education or equivalent. A

Responsibilities
1. Establish a routine maintenance program regarding the storm water and sanitary sewer collection system pipes, manholes, lift stations, storm inlets and other structures.
2. Thorough record keeping of daily activities and maintenance logs of both the sanitary and storm water collection systems.
3. Installation and maintenance of sanitary sewer flow meters, data retrieval, and flow data evaluation.
4. Operation and maintenance of CCTV truck and cameras; and portable video inspection equipment.
5. GIS Mapping and Surveying of the sanitary and storm water sewer manholes, inlets, pipes, and other structures.
6. Operation and maintenance of a combination vacuum and jetting truck.
7. Obtain and maintain confined space certification.

Duties
1. Cleaning, inspection and maintenance of the sanitary and storm water sewer pipes, manholes and inlets.
2. Routine maintenance and cleaning of vehicles.
3. Respond to emergency call-ins.
4. Possession of at least a valid Class B CDL license with tanker endorsement (must be obtained within 1 year of hire).
5. Maintaining records of inspection reports and cleaning records.
6. Confined space entry.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
Light to heavy work involving lifting, carrying, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, talking, handling, hearing, visual acuity, depth perception and color vision.

Occasional confined space entry.

Work will be primarily performed outside with exposure to weather, fumes, odors, dust, noise and possible toxic conditions.
