Lansdale Borough has an open position for a full-time sludge/vacuum truck driver in its Waste Water Treatment Plant. The position is responsible for operating the sludge/vacuum truck and related equipment; loading sludge at treatment plant and unloading at disposal site; monitoring solids for adherence to required parameters; pumping out sludge pits, scum pits, manholes, clarifiers, pump stations and other areas as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid PA driver’s license
Class B CDL with tanker endorsement; no air brake restrictions
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience driving a truck
Ability to perform basic math including addition subtraction, multiplication and division

The Conyngham/Sugarloaf Joint Municipal Authority has an immediate full time day shift opening for its water/wastewater system.

Duties include hands-on operation of wastewater treatment plant and potable well houses, performing daily testing parameters, complete daily reports and log plant data, perform testing procedures necessary to monitor plant performance and evaluating process control. Housekeeping of well houses and treatment plant, including cutting grass and weed whacking, Meter reading, responding to Pa. One calls, respond to and assist/coordinate sewer & water line repairs, hydrant maintenance, other duties related to the sewer and water system as directed by the board and/or operations manager. Must be able to take direction & work well with the Operations Manager and work independently. Must possess initiative, judgment, dependability, and cooperation in performing work assignments. Working with other members of our team you will apply knowledge of the principles, methods and tools employed in the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors and related equipment, wastewater process control, permit compliance, and safe work practices. You will also diagnose operating problems and direct effective correction procedures; prepare required reports, evaluate actual vs budget spend, and maintain complete recordkeeping procedures; analyze recording instrument readings and laboratory test results and adjust various plant processes accordingly; perform plant inspections to determine efficiency of operations, cleanliness, and maintenance activities including remedial action in emergencies; and supervise, evaluate and train employees.

The minimal qualifications are a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, limited computer knowledge, and ability to work at a modern wastewater facility.
