Stephen H. Blefgen, passed away on April 2, 2020 at the age of 77. He was retired, having formerly served as a Civil Engineer and Resident Construction Inspector for Arro Consulting. Steve was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He joined the Association in 1990 and was awarded an RSL membership in 2016. Steve was still serving as the Treasurer of the Hamburg Municipal Authority at the time of his passing. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and two grandchildren. Steve shared his knowledge with many current Association members and will be sorely missed.

 

James G. Ryan passed away on March 4, 2020 at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his wife. He joined the Association in 1976 and was employed by Hatch Mott McDonald at the time of his retirement.

 

Joseph J. McHugh passed away on January 10, 2020. A long time Association member, Joe retired in 2007 as Chief Operator for the Greater Hazelton Joint Sewer Authority after 40 years of service. He was awarded an RSL membership in 2017. Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army and an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by his wife, four brothers, two sisters, five children, and six grandchildren.

 

James G. Houstoun passed away on December 14, 2019 at the age of 87. A member since 1991, Jim had retired from the Borough of Catasaqua, receiving his RSL membership in 2018. He is survived by his wife Monika.

 

Anthony L. “Tony” Romano passed away on July 9, 2019 at the age of 69.  Tony had recently retired from Susquehanna Fire Equipment Company.  He was a veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  Tony is survived by his widow Cecelia, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage, two children, and five grandchildren.  He joined the Association in 2000, and was an active member, particularly in the area of training.  Tony was awarded a Retired from Service Life Membership in January 2019.
